    stunning surroundings
    in-house microbrewery
    hearty meals
    outdated decor

The setting boasts stunning surroundings ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, with direct access to various walking routes. The in-house microbrewery delivers a good variety of beverages that complement the hearty meals, particularly the impressive steak and ale pie that I devoured with delight.

The noise disturbances from the pub below could interrupt an evening's peace, especially if you are assigned a room over the bar. While the decor maintains a certain charm, many areas feel quite outdated, with some elements in need of modernization to elevate the overall comfort. Bed comfort varies significantly. I found my mattress in room 14 unusually old and springy, leading to restless nights. Lastly, the shower pressure left much to be desired—certainly not what you'd expect for a refreshing after-hike rinse.

    comfy bed
    great pub food
    lovely garden
    expensive bar food

I really enjoyed my stay here, especially the comfy bed which helped me sleep like a baby and the great pub food that was really delicious. The garden area was a perfect spot to relax with some lovely seating options, and I also appreciated the fire pit for cozy evenings. Just a heads up, the bar food was a bit pricey, but overall it was a fantastic experience! 😊

    clean room
    beautiful nature
    convenient access
    loud noise
    small portions
    temporary discomfort

I enjoyed my stay in a Double Room, with the cleanliness and comfort of the accommodation standing out. The location offered stunning outdoor activities right at our doorstep. noise from the pub did interfere with sleep at times, and the portion sizes at mealtime could be generous. Perfect for hiking enthusiasts looking for a countryside escape.

    breathtaking views
    friendly staff
    dated decor
    busy dining area
    need for reservations

The location is perfect for hiking, with breathtaking views surrounding the area. Local beers and house-made gin were impressive, alongside generous portions of well-prepared food featuring local ingredients. some areas feel a bit dated, and it’s essential to book a table on busy nights due to high demand.

    hearty breakfast
    homemade meals
    traditional feel
    room comfort
    bathroom size
    staff delays

I really enjoyed my stay at the Strands Inn. The location couldn't be better for climbing Scafell Pike. The atmosphere felt charmingly traditional. Breakfast had generous servings, featuring quality ingredients that really hit the spot. Dinner was well-prepared too, with homemade options that satisfied after a long day of hiking. the room decor felt quite outdated, and the bed wasn't very comfortable. The bathroom was small and a bit cramped. I experienced noise disturbances from the bar area in the evenings, which made it hard to relax. I also noticed staff shortages, causing delays in service, particularly during peak times. Some hairdryers in the rooms would have been a nice touch since I had to ask at the front desk instead. I think there's great potential, but a little updating and more attention to service would elevate the experience!

I really enjoyed my stay, especially the fantastic gluten-free fish & chips and the quick breakfast service. The garden area was lovely for relaxing in the sun, and I loved trying out different beers from the microbrewery. The only downside was that the room was a bit on the small side, but overall, it was a great experience! ☀️

Amazing stay with friends! We explored Scafell Pike and enjoyed the beers on tap. The food was top-notch and really well presented. Breakfast was also a delight, cooked with quality ingredients.

Our stay was cozy and enjoyable despite some quirks. The local quiz nights added a fun twist to our evenings. Don't miss the bacon at breakfast, it's genuinely the best. Perfect for those seeking a laid-back retreat. Consider dining at the pub for a lively atmosphere.
